Founded in 1927. Originally located two blocks west of the courthouse (building now houses a community center).
In 1945 a new high school, big enough to house 3,000 people, was constructed and finished in 1947. The school remained the only High School in New Prairie until 1983, when due to a growth spurt in the town’s population another school was built out past I-48.
