Stewart Filcher was the original identity of the urban legend the Dark Killer.
Bio
Early Days
Stewart was born on the side of the road outside Altoona, PA, to his mother Rachel Filcher. His biological father was an unknown older man who had raped his mother 9 months prior.
Stewart and his mother wandered from place to place until 1909, when the Harris Family took them in. After 3 years of being there, Stewart woke up one night to find his mother attacking Mr. Harris, ultimately killing him and Mrs. Harris. Without hesitation, he helped her bury the bodies in the basement, and the two continued living in the house for another 3 months until locals became suspicious. Aware that they would soon be caught, Stewart and his mother both fled the area.
Arriving in New Prairie
In 1918, they arrived in New Prairie where Stewart's mom met Roberto Martini. Soon, she marries Roberto and shuns her past self, leaving Stewart feeling alone.
New Found Abilities
As he grew up, he gained special telepathic and summoning powers. He quickly found that when he got angry enough, he could summon fire anyway he wanted to. It wasn’t until 1925 that he could actually control where the fire ignited.
Over the next few years, he and his stepfather, Roberto, began having heated arguments with one another. Their final argument ended in 1925 when Stewart, using his newfound powers, set the family house on fire, ultimately killing his step-brother Francis. After the fight at his parents’ house, Stewart left his home and ran to Cambiare Rock where he found a small cave for shelter. While there, a vision of a woman presented herself to him. Stewart lost consciousness and woke up only to find himself struggling with a dark power pushing down into him.
In 1929, Stewart confronted Sofia Balfone with a proposal of marriage as she left Church. Sofia denied him the offer, saying she could never possibly marry him, and left him alone. Stewart finally let the dark presence in and completed his transformation into the Dark Killer.
