Sofia Balfone was the daughter of New Prairie mayor Nucci Balfone and friend of Stewart Filcher.
Bio
Early Days
Born in Palermo, Sicily, Sofia immigrated to the United States in 1914 with her family. Eventually, she and her family settled on the land that would become New Prairie in 1917. Her father, Nucci Balfone, became mayor of the newly founded town in 1918.
Friends with Stewart Filcher
Sofia became the fancy of Stewart Filcher, who, over time, became her friend. In January of 1929, Stewart presented a gift to her and asked her if she would marry him. Knowing her father would not allow her to date someone like him, she turned him down and went home. The denial sent Stewart into a rage, where he vowed that if she wouldn't be with him, she wouldn't be with anyone.
That evening, Stewart returned to Sophia's home, now as the Dark Killer, and murdered Sophia along with her siblings and mother.
