History of the Mountain

The Vicci and the Nectites

Around 588AD, a great evil known as the Vicci, wandered the world possessing the likes of many and taking control of civilizations. As years went by, turmoil started from within the group and a faction broke off realizing they had become too powerful for their own good. This faction, who later became known as The Nectites, revolted and tried to end the evil power of their former fellow men by using a powerful spell to destroy the Vicci.

Instead of destroying the Vicci for good, the spell stripped the evil power from their bodies leaving behind evil ghost-like energy which quickly spread across the land. Watching as the evil energy started destroying the area around them, the Nectites vowed to capture and banish the evil energy and prevent it from destroying others.

Protecting the Mountains

Over the next 5 centuries, the Nectities multiplied and traveled the world capturing the evil and banishing it to central locations where they could keep an eye on them and prevent anyone from releasing the spirits again. At each location, one on each continent, they would leave behind a representative of their race to guard the mountain and energy. A great amount of power most of which stems from the evil banished within the mountain, was put into the protector allowing them to hopefully battle and survive whatever came out of the mountain.

Sister Mountains

There are other mountains around the world that are identical as the one in New Prairie. One is located on each continent: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antartica and even the lost continent of Atlantis (which has since been pulled into an alternate dimension by the unleashing of the energy at one point in time).

The Power Within

Over the years, the mountain's contents have been a thing to fight over by numerous paranormal factions. Over the centuries, the true contents of the mountain became a thing of myth as the Nectitie population started to dwindle to only those protecting the mountain. The mass of energy is so powerful that humans are powerless to it, ultimately being incinerated if they come into contact with it.

The S.H.A.D.O.W. Connection

When The S.H.A.D.O.W. were starting to lose their energy after millenia of life, they decided to start an attack on the mountain to harness it's power in order to regrow themselves. This attack occured in the Spring of 1995, however was ultimately stopped by Gravestone and Waxgirl.
