The Dark Killer is a prominent malevolent supernatural entity and transient presence within the New Prairie Universe. Widely feared for decades as an elusive country urban legend, the entity is a predatory cosmic anomaly directly tied to ancient Nectite forces. The Dark Killer is characterized by his absolute siphoning of light, his deployment of inescapable perimeter energy barriers, and his capability to violently hijack human hosts through total spiritual possession.
He serves as the primary antagonist of the Farm Life's A Killer Trilogy of movies and books.
Bio
Beginnings
The identity of the Dark Killer is suspected to be Stewart Filcher in an alternate form. Between 1925 and 1929, several reports described a man seen on the outskirts of town and near the base of Cambiare Rock. Usually, no one approached him, as people were often frightened away by the moans and whispers he emitted. The first recorded killing linked to the Dark Killer in New Prairie occurred in 1929, when Nucci Balfone was found bleeding on the steps of St. Murphy's Church early in the morning. Balfone, in a panic, claimed that a man dressed in black had murdered his entire family. The town dismissed his account as madness and committed him to the newly established Rhenderelli Asylum.
The Martini Family and Farm
Over the next three years, reports of the man in black, known as the Dark Killer by some local residents, increased and were systematically reported to police and town officials. In 1930, an elderly couple saw the Dark Killer near the Martini Farm late in the evening. It was later discovered that he had traveled there and murdered the owners, Rachel and Roberto Martini, who were the mother and stepfather of Stewart Filcher.
During the next few years, the Dark Killer mainly stayed around the Martini Farm. From 1933 to 1954, his appearances were rare. When he did show up, it was often teenagers daring to face their fears and visit the farm. In 1954, Joseph Hartley bought the Martini Farm and began building a house there. The Dark Killer employed some of his more subtle tactics to frighten him away. However, none of these worked, and for the first time, he encountered someone who wasn’t afraid of him.
In 1955, a teenage boy and his three friends crashed their car nearby and headed to a farm. There, they lost consciousness. The Dark Killer kept them confined in the basement. The teen, who reappeared in 1958, reports that the whole ordeal lasted only a few hours before he woke up at the bottom of the driveway. However, three years had passed with no memory of the time lost. The Dark Killer appears to have manipulated time for the teens in the basement and released one as a warning to the city not to return to the farm.

The Teen Massacres of 1995
On August 18, 1995, a group of recent New Prairie High School graduates hosted a celebration at the abandoned Martini Farm property. The Dark Killer targeted the gathering, using his powers to erect an invisible, burning energy boundary around the courtyard that vaporized anyone attempting to cross the perimeter (such as graduate Nate Jackson).
During the siege, the entity ambushed Elizabeth Abbott in a side shed and took complete possession of her body. Operating through a "dazed" Liz, the entity successfully weaponized her to throat-slash her friend Catherine Hicks. The event concluded when the last survivor, Sarah Cole, managed to thwack the weapon from Liz's grasp and drive a machete directly into her chest. The traumatic strike caused the entity's containment bubble to instantly break in a blinding flash of green light.
Because Liz Abbott's physical form was stabbed, the Dark Killer found himself temporarily paralyzed and trapped inside her recovering human shell. Forcing the body down into his hidden underground space beneath the farm sheds, he retrieved an alternate machete and hid in the local cornfields until his energy matrix restored. Weeks later, he completely cast away Liz's body in a field for the local authorities to find and migrated directly to The Hollow subdivision.
After Sarah Cole arrived at the police station, officers were dispatched to the farm where they discovered the bodies of the murdered teenagers. During their search, they also uncovered a secret staircase beneath the floorboards of a shed on the property. Going down the stairs, the police found a small concealed room containing a heavily worn-out single bed, an old battered desk, a framed photo of Rachel Martini, a cabinet stocked with knives, and a trunk that couldn’t be opened, leaving its contents unknown. The room was cataloged and photographed, but nothing was taken.
Knowing someone survived his attack, the Dark Killer left the farm for the first time in years and traveled across the farm fields. The decaying body of Elizabeth Abbott had served its purpose and allowed him to regenerate enough to dismiss her body, in which he did in the middle of the farm field, 3 miles from the Martini Farm.
Continuing his travels, he eventually came across The Hollow (Location) subdivision, where he heard of a teen named Sarah Hindwither being present. The name, triggering in his head, caused him to murder everyone. During the battle, he is stabbed by one of the teenagers, causing his already weakened form to crumble again. To save himself and finish the attack, he possessed Amanda Mendel and killed the remaining teenager just as the police arrived. Unable to defend himself or escape her body, he remained within her as she was taken to jail for the murders.
Amanda, still possessed, was put before Judge Dominic Cozzi for the death of her friends. Battling with the Dark Killer in her head, she lashed out at the judge and attempted to storm the bench, causing Cozzi to immediately commit her to Rhenderelli Asylum. There, the Dark Killer used her as a way to find the real Sarah he was looking for, whom he found was in the asylum with him. After murdering a few of the nurses and the guard guarding the files on the inmates, he killed every Sara in the asylum. On Halloween night, 1995, during a horrific storm that knocked out power to the asylum and his own presence deterring the usage of backup generators, he finally found that the girl who was helping Amanda was the Sarah he was looking for, and as Amanda, he shoved his machete straight into Sarah, killing her.
He de-possessed Amanda and attempted to murder Dr. Carol Richie, however just before swinging his machete, he heard the sound of his trunk opening, a sound only audible to him and left the scene.
Death
After years of traversing the cemetery borders and evading the undead vigilantism of Gravestone, the Dark Killer's reign was permanently halted in 1996.
Jack Ridley tracked the entity down to an empty football field where the killer was actively searching for his old locked storage trunk holding ancient relics. Using Gravestone as bait to tire the entity out, Ridley successfully performed an ancient incantation that forced open an interdimensional portal. The Dark Killer was pulled from our realm and sealed permanently behind the gateway, with Ridley locking his original machete and inside the secure trunk to prevent any future anchor from being forged.
Appearance
His appearance has never been fully captured by film (photographic or video). His presence around such electrical items always seems to cause their temporary malfunction, resulting in a disturbingly distorted image on photo, and massive static interference on video. Some investigators have however managed to still frame a single frame or two that show the Dark Killer in action. However, details are lost in the images, and only a figure, dressed in black and wearing sunglasses, can be made out.
