Formula 626 was the original chemical designed to help cure patients, but through years of research, it ultimately led to the creation of the Capes.

Individuals Created by Formula 627
The following are those who developed powers from Steven Haast's modified Formula 627. These were unknown test subjects who were given the formula through regular check-up exams, breathing it in via aerosol cans, or ingesting it in the food they ate.
Timeline
1988 – The Genesis of Formula 626 (Clarissa / Waxgirl)
- Mitchell Falcone attempts to cure 18-year-old catatonic schizophrenic Clarissa Thaems at Rhenderelli.
- Formula 626 awakens her, but mutates her dermal genetics, turning her skin into a wax-like substance.
- Clarissa embraces her transformation, becoming the world’s true prototype "cape": Waxgirl.
1988 – Formula 626 & The Original Eight
- Seeking to isolate the gene-mutating trigger, Falcone develops Formula 627.
- Mature adult tests yield zero results, shifting testing to a cohort of 8 children with Dr. Terrance Masters:
- 3 Children: Showed immediate physical/mental mutation and were locked away in deep Rhenderelli labs (and forgotten/left behind).
- 2 Children: Suffered fatal genetic collapse; bodies cremated.
- 3 Children (The Survivors):
- Clive Kaden: Developed latent telekinesis; kept his powers hidden.
- Child #7 & Child #8: Unconfirmed (possibly Barbara Roche, though her mind-control powers might be distinct or unlocked later).
1989 – Steven Haast Steps In
- Steven Haast attempts to buy Formula 626 from Falcone.
- Falcone demands more money; Haast sends goons to intimidate/run Falcone off the road.
- Gravestone (Nathan) intervenes and stops Haast’s thugs.
1992–1994 – Hazdon Industries & Flamenco T. Chille
- Falcone co-founds Hazdon Industries with Jack Rupert.
- Hitting a research wall, Falcone uses the secret alias Flamenco T. Chille to remotely collaborate with James Anderton.
- Together, they complete the final, weaponized super-soldier formula.
- 1994: Rupert discovers Falcone's plan to sell the formula to military forces, fires him, and locks the research in a company safe.
1995 – The Theft & Falcone's Death
- Summer 1995: Haast hires operatives to steal the formula from Hazdon; they escape with only a single printed page.
- December 1995: Falcone hires a mercenary team to steal back the full formula so he can take it to a rival firm in Chicago.
- To erase tracks, Falcone sets his hired crew against each other. A surviving mercenary hunts Falcone down and executes him. The location of the master formula is lost.
2007–2010s – The Mass Cape Explosion
- Using the single page from 1995, Haast spends over a decade attempting to reverse-engineer the chemical balance. By 2007, they've created a new formula, Formula 627, and begin animal testing.
- 2007: Animal trials produce unstable human/animal hybrids. Haast dies before starting human trials.
- Post-Haast Era: Haast’s rogue lead scientists take over, secretly dosing the New Prairie public via aerosols, restaurant foods, and clinical injection programs.
- Unintentional micro-dosing triggers varied genetic mutations, giving birth to the modern era of "Capes" (including figures like Sampson, Red Heart, and others).
