Bio

Geoff was known by many to be quite the videotape enthusiast. In 1995, he videotaped Karen LaSalle and Joseph Martini having sex in a “secluded” area of town and talked about it to everyone.

Geoff was murdered as part of the Teen Massacres of 1995 and was found in the front seat of his vehicle, dead from strangulation.

Geoff's Camera

The New Prairie Police initially held hope when they found Geoff’s body, especially since his video camera was sitting on the dashboard, pointed directly at him. The battery was dead, but officers quickly realized the camera had been on and possibly recording during his death, which could finally reveal the true identity of the Dark Killer.

Using a new battery, the police watched the footage from that night with anticipation. Geoff had recorded nearly everything—moments of fear shared by the teens and himself. They watched until his death, and to their excitement, they saw Geoff leave the camera recording. The footage showed him getting into his vehicle, setting the camera down, and fiddling with something in his camera bag. Suddenly, a dark streak appeared behind him, and the video’s picture started to malfunction.

The audio of Geoff was clear in the background, but the events unfolding weren’t. The tape’s tracking went haywire, giving only brief glimpses—later revealing Geoff struggling with no one behind him but a dark shadow on the seat. Geoff’s groans stopped, and the video cleared up again, showing Geoff dead in the passenger seat of his car, just as the police had found him.

The camera's video cassette went missing shortly afterwards. It was taken by Lt. Jake Morris and purposely destroyed at his home in an attempt to cover up any existence of the Dark Killer.
