Trivia
- The production of the film took 3 1/2 years to complete, almost costing Levi Trevino his life savings and his health.
- When production began, the cast was informed the movie would be complete within 3 months. However, when budgetary issues arose, many cast members left, assuming the film was a dud, even though only a 1/3 of it had been filmed. This resulted in many of the characters' strange absences throughout the film.
- The popular fan theory that "The Figure" was actually Terry's long-forgotten uncle, whom she mentions off-handily during the drive to the resort. It wasn't until Part 3 that the concept of "The Motherboard" was introduced and that "The Figure" was a previous IT Specialist all along. This was later expanded upon in the 2015 film Factory Reset where the character of Gus Holbrook survived his attack by Mother 1.0 and escaped the facility located 50 miles from the resort in the film.
