The Hollow
The Hollow is a suburban residential development located on the outer southern fringe of New Prairie, Wisconsin. Developed in the mid-1990s as part of the city’s outward expansion, the subdivision is characterized by its mix of newly constructed multi-story family homes, dead-end cul-de-sacs, and encroaching dense woodland.
The subdivision is best known as the primary setting for the second set of murders during the Teen Massacres of 1995, where the entity known as the Dark Killer infiltrated a house party hosted by high school graduate Lynnea Manucci.
Geography & Layout
The Hollow sits directly along the transitional boundary where New Prairie's suburban grid gives way to rural county roads and dense timberland.
- The Main Gate: The entrance off the rural connector road is marked by a large stone-and-timber sign bearing the inscription "The Hollow: A New Subdivision in New Prairie".
- Phase Construction: In September 1995, only Phase 1 (the main loop and initial cul-de-sac) was fully built and occupied. Phase 2 consisted of framed, unlit construction plots that backed directly into the woods.
- Proximity to Historical Lore: The Hollow lies roughly two miles northwest of the abandoned Martini Farm property. This geographic proximity allowed the Dark Killer, after regenerating in the nearby cornfields, to easily migrate to the neighborhood via a late-night driver on the back roads.

- Whispering Pines Court: A quiet, curved cul-de-sac branching off Timberline Lane.
- Lynnea’s House is located at the end of Whispering Pines Court, with its back yard and stone fire pit sitting right on the border of the woods.
- Shady Oak Drive: A central residential street connecting Hollow Crest Road to the inner loop of Phase 1, featuring manicured lawns and young planted saplings.
- Briarwood Circle: A horseshoe-shaped street housing most of the high school graduates and families who moved into the first wave of completed homes in summer 1995.
- Phase 2 Construction Sector: Shadow Ridge Way, Hollow Glen Court
- Shadow Ridge Way: A half-paved extension leading deeper south toward the dense timberland, filled with lumber stacks, dirt mounds, and exposed home frames.
- Ditch Road / Cutoff: An informal dirt passage cut by heavy machinery that connects Phase 2 directly to the back cornfields and the ravine where backroad traffic passes.
- Hollow Glen Court: An unlit, framed-out dead end where Phase 2 halts abruptly at the edge of the woods.

Notable Inhabitants & Events
- Lynnea's Residence: The site of the Labor Day Weekend house party on September 2, 1995.
- The September 2 Massacre: The Dark Killer entered the development after executing a delivery driver on the perimeter road. Taking advantage of scattered partygoers, the entity killed several teenagers inside the house, basement, and surrounding woods using household and garden implements (a pool cue, toilet porcelain, a garden shovel, and marshmallow skewers).
- The Arrest of Amanda Mendel: The massacre concluded on the edge of the woods bordering the subdivision fire pit, where the entity violently possessed Amanda Mendel before executing the final survivor. The New Prairie Police Department apprehended Amanda on-site, attributing the entire tragedy to a teenage psychotic break.
