Here's Hoping You're There, Kid is a romance drama set against World War II.

Plot synopsis

Set in 1945 New York, the movie follows Capt. Jack Callahan, as he returns home after World War II, carrying a pocketful of unsent letters and the hope that Evelyn Mercer is still waiting for him. When he discovers that years of wartime separation have changed both of their lives, Jack must decide whether love can survive the distance of time, missed opportunities, and the secrets they each kept while apart.
