1. Connecting the Dots: The Origin of Andy & Kevin's Device

If the universe operates on a Closed Loop, the military didn't build their machine in a vacuum—they were copying a relic they recovered.

• The Artifact: Sometime after Andy, Kevin, and Heather escaped the 1976 Great New Prairie Fire and safely returned to 2001, their portable device was lost, stolen, or confiscated.
• The Project Genesis: The U.S. Government obtains this burnt, heavily damaged, mysterious device. They realize what it is, but because it’s fried from the 1976 supernatural explosion (the mixture of Andy's spark and the Dark Killer's physiology), their scientists can't make sense of its temporal matrix.
• Enter Harold Meltzner (2007): On May 29, 2007, the military recruits Harold. His entire job in that secret Arizona bunker is to reverse-engineer Andy and Kevin's device.
• The Ultimate Cosmic Irony: Harold spends years trying to replicate the math of this device to give the military a tool that can change history (Option B). But where did Andy and Kevin get the blueprint or the device in 2001 in the first place? They got it because someone leaked or stole Harold’s future research blueprints from the 2007 project and passed them backward to 2001. Harold is reverse-engineering a device that only exists because he reverse-engineered it. The loop is perfectly sealed.
