Baysquatch was a single-season television show that featured Sasquatch as a lifeguard on a Santa Monica beach.

Premise

Sasquatch makes his way down from Washington state and finds himself in Santa Monica, where he reveals that he can speak and understand humans. He lands a job as a lifeguard at a local beach, where he uses his animal instincts to help solve crimes and mysteries that arise.

Production

After the initial success of the television show BAYWATCH, FOX started looking for a version of their own to air. Spencer Townsend pitched his concept to the channel with a single sentence: "Bigfoot meets the beach." The channel greenlit the production immediately.

Reception

The show was given negative reviews after episode three; however, the network continued to air the episodes until its second season. Just prior to the premiere of Season 2, an organization boycotted the show, causing it to be pulled before the episodes aired. The six episodes produced for Season 2 never aired.
