Realizing it has some kind of power, the two slap on some rudimentary tech that causes it to power up, sending them back in time to 1935 New Prairie, as its energy is directly tied to the [[Dark Killer]]. There, they faced the Dark Killer, who threatened to kill both of them unless Kevin sacrificed himself.

			They devised a plan to stop the [[Dark Killer]], but it backfired. His powers, combined with theirs, and the help of their new friend [[Heather Dinola-Stewart\|Heather Dinola]], sent them forward in time to 1976, hours before the great fire. Once again, they encountered the Dark Killer, who led them on a chase through town. While resting in a small shop, Kevin accidentally started a fire that, aided by the Killer's powers, spread rapidly through downtown, causing [[Burning of New Prairie\|The Burning Of New Prairie]].

			The final showdown with the Dark Killer transported the trio back to 2001, just as their past selves were leaving.
